About The Position

The Packaging Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the operation of assigned production lines in a family-owned smokehouse. This role involves ensuring that production goals are met while adhering to safety, quality, and hygiene standards. The position is a temp-hire opportunity on the 1st shift, requiring effective management of resources and personnel to maintain production schedules.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D preferred
• Able to work in a cold environment
• Ability to work with cooked meat
• Weight to be lifted weighing a maximum of 50 lbs
• Follow and promote safe work practices

Responsibilities

• Monitors and delivers daily production goals and line standards (safety, productivity, quality, customer service, and cost standards)
• Ensures production resources including materials, equipment, and human resources are available as needed to maintain production schedules
• Completes one or more quality and safety reports at established frequencies and in an appropriate manner
• Assists with the management of production line employees
• Intervenes with employees regarding Good Manufacturing Practices
• Provides employee training to ensure that employees are performing job responsibilities effectively
• Informs maintenance and supervisors in case of machine breakage
• Makes weight gains, checks condensation, and metal detector
• Enforces rules, regulations, and procedures
• Models a positive, resilient, and results-oriented approach
• Performs production worker duties when team leader duties are fulfilled
• Performs other tasks at the request of the immediate superior
