About the position
The Packer/Warehouse Associate role involves working in a refrigerated warehouse environment, focusing on the packing and quality control of produce. The position requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work as part of a team to meet production standards.
Responsibilities
- Check out, clean and cut fruits and roots, including removing stems, leaves, and holes.
- Inspect produce for decay, mold, softness, and other quality indicators.
- Repack and label produce in boxes or bags as needed.
- Assemble boxes and clams together as a team.
- Grade products for quality, ensuring they meet size and weight standards.
- Record information on repackaged products, including lot numbers and dates.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and return tools and equipment after use.
- Follow directions from the Production Supervisor.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) on the floor as required by health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Meet production minimum standards set by the company.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous work experience with produce is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Ability to stand all day and handle cutting tools.
- Attention to detail for quality control purposes.
- Bilingual (Spanish & English) is a plus.
