About the position

The Packer position at Wolverine Industries is essential for ensuring that finished goods are packed according to customer specifications. This role involves inspecting materials for quality, maintaining an organized workspace, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts. The Packer will also be responsible for operating machinery, training new team members, and ensuring production standards are consistently met.

Responsibilities

• Pack finished goods according to customer requirements.
• Inspect materials for defects and ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintain an organized and clean workspace.
• Restock packing supplies as needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Complete packaging tasks such as assembly, stacking, and binding.
• Operate and maintain packing machinery properly.
• Report any machinery issues to management.
• Work cooperatively with the production team to meet quotas and goals.
• Set up packing queues for shipping orders.
• Train new team members on packing procedures and safety guidelines.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to achieve forklift and crane certifications.
• Manufacturing experience in industrial production preferred.
• Availability for nights and weekends with occasional overtime.
• Capable of reading and understanding production documents and safety manuals.
• Basic math, reading, and writing skills required.
• Good communication skills.
• Willingness to comply with all safety guidelines.
• Reliable and punctual.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior forklift and side loader experience.
