About the position

Peoplelink Staffing Solutions is seeking Packing Machine Operators for a prominent food manufacturing facility in St. John, Michigan. This role involves operating machinery on the third shift, ensuring efficient packaging processes, and maintaining quality standards. The position offers a competitive hourly wage and benefits after a probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Ensure vacuum pumps are on and vacuum sealers are enabled.
• Close vacuum sealers as soon as they have four fresh boxes.
• Place clean slip sheet on cheese and fold bag after vacuum sealing.
• Place bottom boards and irons on boxes, rejecting any damaged components.
• Check Tosca iron legs on the leg jig to ensure they fit the 640 box correctly.
• Ensure boxes don't sit in one place for too long to prevent a jam.
• Run all fill station operations including calibrating scales and inserting angles.
• Run all Dry Ice Operations including calibrating hoppers and dosing blocks.
• Inspect each block for foreign material such as plastic, metal, or excessive peppers.
• Perform metal detector tests and DI magnet inspections.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of two (2) years post high school manufacturing experience
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Physically capable of safely lifting 40 pounds without assistance
• Ability to stand and bend for long periods of time
• Ability to perform repetitive movements.
