About the position
The PACS/RIS Coordinator plays a crucial role in delivering patient care by overseeing and maintaining medical software systems, specifically the Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS). This position requires effective communication with referring doctors' offices, imaging centers, and hospitals to ensure smooth access to radiologists' reports and images. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is eager to contribute to the efficiency of patient services.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and continuously improve workflow efficiency within the PACS.
- Act as a liaison between radiologists and clients, providing exceptional support and problem resolution.
- Assist users in troubleshooting and resolving system-related issues.
- Process and enter data for outside images requiring radiologists' interpretation.
- Uphold HIPAA regulations and adhere to all department, facility, and regulatory policies.
Requirements
- High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree is a plus.
- At least 2 years in outpatient radiology or medical imaging.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills; familiarity with medical imaging software is highly valued.
- Organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a strong ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing; bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
