About the position
The PACU Nurse at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center plays a crucial role in providing compassionate care to patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and Pre-Operative areas. This position involves applying nursing knowledge and skills to support patients during their recovery from surgery, ensuring their comfort and safety while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities
- Float between Pre-Op and PACU departments as needed.
- Apply cultural sensitivity to all patients, caregivers, and teams.
- Develop and implement a nursing care plan for Pre-OP and PACU patients.
- Collaborate with other professionals to ensure rooms are prepped with necessary equipment and supplies.
- Demonstrate kindness and compassion in patient interactions.
Requirements
- Minimum one (1) year RN experience within Critical Care (ICU, Telemetry, ER).
- AZ RN license or RN license from a Compact State.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- American Heart Association ACLS certification within 30 days of hire.
- American Heart Association PALS certification within 6 months of hire.
Nice-to-haves
- Strong cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring skills.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- One (1) year post anesthesia care experience.
- Knowledge of surgical procedures and critical care (surgical) background.
- Pediatric experience.
