About The Position

The Wall Street Journal is seeking a motivated and creative Page Designer to join our award-winning team of editorial designers. In this role, you will be an integral part of a team that provides designs and layouts across all of our news sections. Your primary responsibility will be to help provide focus and shape to pages and stories, collaborating closely with multiple stakeholders, including other visual journalists, reporters, and editors. You will work on assignments provided by section editors to produce visually compelling layouts that reflect the journalistic integrity of WSJ. As a Page Designer, you will stay on top of the news schedule and priorities throughout the day, reviewing advertising layouts and helping to develop a visual plan for each story and page. Your creative layouts and presentation of stories will adhere to established styles and design guidelines. You will receive daily assignments and manage your time effectively to meet strict edition deadlines, clearly communicating with the art director about your needs and alerting them to potential issues. Additionally, you will assist other team members with their assignments and fill in for the art director when needed, ensuring that all pages reflect the high journalistic standards of the WSJ.
