About the position
This internship position at Peoples Trust & Savings Bank in Clive, Iowa, is designed for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in various banking operations. Interns will engage in customer service, lending and credit analysis, loan operations, and compliance tasks, providing a comprehensive understanding of the banking industry.
Responsibilities
- Work front-line customer service duties to meet customer demands and communicate effectively.
- Develop cross-sale/customer service skills by learning bank product offerings.
- Learn how to open new accounts, including consumer and business accounts.
- Become familiar with different deposit products and related account services.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Fiserv Premier.
- Learn underwriting processes for all loan types including consumer, mortgage, agricultural, commercial, and real estate.
- Assist the credit department with tax return spreads and writing Loan Request Summaries.
- Shadow a Loan Officer mentor through day-to-day activities and customer meetings.
- Assist lending and credit personnel as directed.
- Support Loan Administration through the development of loan documentation and collections.
- Assist Compliance Officer with Bank Secrecy Act and other compliance duties.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers.
- Ability to learn and understand banking products and services.
- Basic understanding of financial principles and loan processes.
