About the position

The Paid Training Program Recruiter at Goodwill Industries of San Diego County is responsible for overseeing the outreach and recruitment of trainees for the Paid Training Program. This role involves promoting the program by building strong relationships with community agencies and educational institutions to identify potential clients. The recruiter will work closely with Community Employment Centers and coordinate with Human Resource Recruiters to identify, interview, and hire trainees into the program, as well as assist in their placement into permanent positions at Goodwill Industries of San Diego County (GISD). In collaboration with the Learning and Development Manager, the recruiter ensures smooth transitions for trainees into the program and after completion into permanent positions. The role also includes researching and informing ambassadors about educational opportunities, assisting career advisors and managers in coaching their ambassadors on these opportunities, and maintaining a database for the Paid Training Program. The recruiter will provide monthly and yearly reports on the program's performance to the Board. The recruiter will engage in various outreach activities, including phone calls, visits, and online presentations to promote the Paid Training Program. They will also prescreen applications, conduct interviews, and coordinate with Community Employment Centers to plan outreach events and support job seekers. The recruiter will track and maintain records of the program's activities and ensure that promotional materials are current and available for distribution. Additionally, they will guide career advisors and managers in coaching ambassadors on pursuing educational opportunities that align with their career goals.

Responsibilities

  • Outreach and build relationships with community agencies to recruit for the Paid Training Program.
  • Research and recommend new sources for promoting the Paid Training Program in the community.
  • Ensure promotion material for the Paid Training Program is current and available for distribution.
  • Identify new opportunities to promote the program in different communities.
  • Prescreen applications on iCIMS, conduct phone interviews, and schedule interviews with trainees and HR Recruiters.
  • Coordinate with Community Employment Centers to plan outreach events and provide support with screening job seekers.
  • Attend outreach events and career fairs as needed.
  • Coordinate with HR Recruiters at hiring events to identify and interview job seekers eligible for the program.
  • Refer job seekers to Community Employment Centers or Human Resource Recruiters based on eligibility.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources to ensure trainees complete contingencies and receive onboarding schedules.
  • Reach out to sponsors at agencies to identify wrap-around services for clients as needed.
  • Communicate with Learning and Development team and HR recruiters during the hiring process for trainees to permanent positions.
  • Track and maintain the database for the Paid Training Program.
  • Provide monthly and yearly Paid Training Numbers for Board Reports.
  • Research and inform ambassadors about education opportunities in the community.
  • Maintain the education portal on GISD website and assist ambassadors in registering for courses or applying for programs.
  • Guide Career Advisors and managers on coaching ambassadors in pursuing education opportunities that meet their needs.
  • Meet regularly with the Director of Workforce Development and participate in team meetings.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • GED or High School education required; AA degree, Certification in related field, BA or BS degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field or 5 years of GISD experience in a level 4 or 5 position, or a combination of past experience and GISD experience equaling 5 years.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, email, and internet.
  • Must have a valid CA driver's license, proof of insurance, and a driving record acceptable to Goodwill's insurance company.
