About the position
The Ticketing Coordinator will manage admissions and provide a positive check-in experience for attendees at a monthly open mic event in Atlanta. This role is crucial as the first point of contact, setting the tone for the evening and ensuring all attendees feel welcomed and informed. It offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and inclusive creative community.
Responsibilities
- Attend a short pre-event meeting the day before the show to review the schedule.
- Help set up the ticketing/check-in station, including signage and materials.
- Familiarize yourself with tiered ticketing/donation options and policies.
- Understand the nuances of the show at a high level in order to answer any questions from attendees.
- Welcome attendees and manage the check-in/ticketing process efficiently.
- Verify tickets or collect donations at the door, ensuring accurate records.
- Distribute wristbands, raffle tickets, or other materials to attendees as applicable.
- Explain the show structure, rules, and available incentives (e.g., raffle, concessions, etc.) to attendees.
- Maintain a warm and approachable demeanor during the event.
- Help reconcile ticketing/donation records and report totals to the organizers.
- Provide feedback on the check-in process and suggest areas for improvement.
- Assist with packing up the ticketing station and other materials.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills and a welcoming personality.
- Organized and reliable, with experience in customer service or event management preferred.
- Quick problem-solving abilities and the capacity to stay calm under pressure.
- Passionate about supporting local creative talent and fostering community connections.
