About The Position

The RN in the NICU (On Call, Nights) position is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to neonatal patients. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care in collaboration with the healthcare team, ensuring that the unique needs of each patient are met. The RN will utilize clinical judgment to address health problems and coordinate care activities with other disciplines.

Requirements

• Minimum nine (9) months of RN experience.
• Eighteen (18) months NICU experience in the last 5 years.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Registered Nurse License in the state where care is provided.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification required at hire.
• Computer keyboarding skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous health care experience.
• Bachelors degree in nursing or related field.
• Bilingual Spanish-English.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate multi-system assessments of patients, including biophysical, psychosocial, and environmental factors.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans sensitive to the developmental needs of patients.
• Coordinate patient care activities and discharge planning with other departments and community agencies.
• Delegate patient care activities appropriately based on patient condition and the scope of practice of other healthcare providers.
• Initiate appropriate measures based on established protocols for managing medical and surgical patients.
• Document care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) according to policy and procedure.
• Evaluate assessment methods, care plans, and patient responses to treatment.
