About the position

The Painter position at The Vision Companies is a long-term temporary role located in Brooklyn Park, MN. The primary purpose of this job is to safely clean and prepare materials prior to paint application, as well as to apply primer paint and top coat (finish coat) to components and machinery. In this role, you will be responsible for various essential functions including sanding, masking, washing, painting, and touching up components and machines according to blueprints and engineering drawings. You will also be required to maintain documentation for labor hour records both electronically and manually, perform activities related to hazardous waste handling, and coordinate work to meet production schedules. Additionally, you will need to take the initiative to identify, document, communicate, and correct any problems related to paint, reporting discrepancies and recommending solutions as necessary. The ability to work effectively in a team environment and with limited supervision is crucial for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize safety every day
  • Sand, mask, wash, paint and touch-up components and machines according to blueprint and engineering drawings

Requirements

  • Two years of experience in heavy equipment paint processing, a paint related certificate, or certified trade school/technical degree in paint related field
  • Experience in top coat, prime coat, and electrostatic paint
  • Knowledge of blueprints/engineering drawings
