About the position
The Painter I position at E-ONE involves preparing and applying industrial finishes to various fire truck components, ensuring high-quality results while adhering to safety and quality standards. The role requires flexibility, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous improvement in processes and products.
Responsibilities
- Check and prepare units for paint application.
- Operate spray guns and other equipment to apply finishes on various surfaces.
- Review material and product requirements, including preparation operations like masking.
- Apply primers and top coats in the prescribed sequence and bake according to manufacturer recommendations.
- Clean and maintain spray equipment and paint booth after use.
- Notify supervisor of any unusual equipment or operating problems.
- Perform job functions at other paint facilities as needed.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
- Good math skills.
- Forklift license (must be able to obtain an E-ONE-issued forklift license).
- Recordkeeping abilities.
- Knowledge of and adherence to E-ONE safety practices.
- Certification per paint manufacturers' criteria.
- Knowledgeable in Lean Methodologies.
- Ability to read and understand shop orders.
