About the position
The Painter position at Turner Industries involves performing surface preparation and applying protective coatings to assets to prevent corrosion and ensure product purity. This role is essential in maintaining safety and quality standards in industrial settings, particularly in petrochemical and related industries. The position is non-exempt and reports to the Foreman, with a work schedule of 5/10s.
Responsibilities
- Perform surface preparation per specification to achieve proper adhesion on asset.
- Apply protective coatings on assets for corrosion prevention and hazard recognition.
- Utilize various methods for surface preparation including solvent, hand tools, power tools, and abrasive blast cleaning.
- Apply protective coatings using methods such as brush/roll, conventional spray, and airless spray.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- TWIC certification required.
- Basic safety training preferred.
- Experience with industrial coatings operations and best practices preferred.
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation required.
