About the position
The Analyst position at Sammons Financial Group involves analyzing and applying federal and state regulations, particularly IRS tax regulations, to various financial management tasks. The role is responsible for ensuring compliance in withholding management, information reporting, premium tax, and vendor management. The Analyst will also be accountable for expense plan reporting and client accounts, ensuring accurate regulatory filings and effective communication with regulatory bodies. This position requires collaboration with various teams across the organization and a commitment to continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and apply federal and state regulations to withholding management and information reporting.
- Execute federal and state withholding deposits and regulatory filings.
- Research and resolve unclaimed property and tax issues, including direct communication with regulatory bodies.
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of IRS filings for various information reporting forms.
- Complete State Use Tax filings and maintain necessary documentation for vendor setups.
- Produce analytical reports and communicate findings to leadership.
- Coach and mentor new team members, promoting company values and professionalism.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or relevant business field.
- 2-4 years' experience in accounting or a relevant business area.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- High degree of analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and resolve complex issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and company-specific software applications.
