About the position

The PAM Data Entry Clerk position within the Centralized Data Entry (CDE) Unit of the Accountability Office (AO) is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data entries related to social services programs administered by the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA). The role involves reviewing documents, correcting errors, maintaining logs, and processing case transactions efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Review and check Turn Around Document (TAD) for completeness and accuracy of data entries, making corrections as necessary.
  • Enter information received from source documents for data entry and maintain controls on items submitted for processing.
  • Correct errors of omission or transposition and ensure required corrective action is taken on data entry errors.
  • Ensure all forms to authorize the payment of benefits are correctly completed and have the proper signatures and approvals before and after data entry.
  • Help resolve daily correction of errors on the WINRO report to prevent duplicate assistance or incorrect payments.
  • Maintain a daily log of all assigned cases for which actions have been initiated for the supervisor.
  • Scan TADs for various offices and return documents to the supervisor for further processing.
  • Complete Fair Hearing Evidence Management System (FHEMS) hits using PAM, WMS, and physical documents to update records.

Requirements

  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization.
  • One year of satisfactory clerical experience.
  • Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 keystrokes (20 words) per minute.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to review and critically assess case actions and implement corrective actions timely.
  • Working knowledge of HRA/IREA systems including WMS, HRA Viewer, POS, and HRA scanning and indexing system.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
