About the position

Island Kitchen InFlight is seeking an experienced Pantry Chef/Garmage Cook to join our catering team. This role involves preparing and assembling cold food items for inflight catering services, ensuring high standards of presentation and food safety in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The ideal candidate should be flexible with hours and capable of transitioning between morning, mid-day, and evening shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assemble cold food items including salads, fruit displays, pastry displays, tenderloin platters, crudites, etc.
  • Follow and assemble tickets as prepared via the spec book to ensure standards in operational efficiency and client expectations.
  • Ensure the pantry station is organized, clean, and stocked with necessary ingredients.
  • Assist in managing inventory levels for pantry items.
  • Collaborate with kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient service.
  • Adhere to food safety standards and regulations at all times.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in a restaurant or culinary environment.
  • Strong knowledge of pantry operations, including inventory control and food handling.
  • Previous experience in catering is strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable working in a high-paced environment with change.
  • 5+ years relevant culinary experience.
