About the position

The Operations Data Analyst III position at Medical Mutual involves analyzing operations data to support business decisions and identify areas for improvement. This role requires intermediate to advanced data analysis skills and the ability to communicate findings effectively to leadership. The position offers flexibility to work from home within a specified radius of the Toledo office.

Responsibilities

  • Collects, synthesizes, and analyzes operations data from various sources to answer client questions, measure the effectiveness of business decisions, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Builds and maintains reports for internal teams.
  • Creates visualizations and/or presentations to share results with a variety of audiences including colleagues, clients, department leadership, etc.
  • Participates on functional teams to complete projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, applied mathematics, data analysis, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 3 years of data/statistical analysis experience, preferably in health insurance or other financial services.
  • Intermediate to advanced programming skills in SQL and SAS.
  • Proficiency in visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Enhanced understanding of relevant data structures, definitions, and relationships.
  • Ability to define business requirements without assistance and ask clarifying questions.
  • Effective communication skills with department leadership.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in health insurance or financial services industry.
  • Familiarity with data visualization best practices.
