About the position

The Para Classroom position at Santa Fe South Public Schools involves providing essential support to the instructional program within a classroom setting. Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities and materials to support and reinforce classroom goals.
• Administers classroom assignments to assist teachers in the instructional process.
• Assists students with lesson assignments to reinforce learning concepts.
• Communicates with teachers to evaluate student progress and implement classroom objectives.
• Maintains classroom equipment and records to ensure a safe learning environment.
• Monitors students in various settings to provide a positive learning atmosphere.
• Performs general clerical tasks to prepare instructional materials.
• Reports observations and incidents related to student behavior and safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completed at least 48 credit hours of college study or obtained an associate's degree.
• Completed the Oklahoma Special Education Paraprofessional Training (can be obtained after hire).
• CPR and First Aid certification (can be obtained after hire).
• Training in Universal Precautions/Bloodborne Pathogens (can be obtained after hire).
• Ability to operate standard office equipment and use relevant software applications.

Nice-to-haves
