About the position

The Escondido Union School District is seeking candidates for the Paraeducator Early Ed-Bilingual classification. This position is essential in supporting the educational development of children ages zero to five in an organized setting. The successful candidate will be part of a team dedicated to actualizing the unlimited potential of every learner, fostering a positive culture and diversity, ensuring safety and security, and maintaining fiscal solvency. The eligibility list created from this posting will be used to fill future vacancies as they arise.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics at a level meeting State and Federal requirements.
  • Support the educational development of children in early childhood settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a positive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development and training as required.

Requirements

  • Possession of a secondary school diploma or its recognized equivalent.
  • Completion of six units of Early Childhood Education or Child Development coursework from an accredited educational institution.
  • Completion of at least two years of study (minimum 48 semester hours) at an accredited institution of higher education, possession of an associate's (or higher) degree, or passing a rigorous assessment demonstrating knowledge of core subjects.
  • Paid or volunteer experience working with children ages zero to five in an organized setting is strongly preferred.
  • Certification in Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED must be obtained prior to the completion of the probationary period.
  • Proof of immunizations against influenza, pertussis, and measles as required by State Bill 792.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in bilingual education or working with bilingual children.
  • Additional certifications related to early childhood education.
