About the position

The Paraeducator position at Rainbows United, Inc. is a part-time role focused on supporting both typically developing children and those with developmental disabilities in a childcare setting for children aged birth to 5 years. The Paraeducator assists the Teacher in creating a nurturing environment, observing and assessing children's needs, and maintaining communication with parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Teacher in providing a warm and nurturing environment for children.
• Assesses children's strengths and needs through observation and maintains required records.
• Provides input to classroom planning, both long-term and short-term.
• Maintains open communication with the Teacher, parents, and other staff members.
• Complies with Agency and departmental safety policies and procedures.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer 1 year of experience working with special needs children or children aged 2 weeks to 5 years.
• Ability to read and write in the English language.
• Ability to perform work tasks within the physical demand requirements.
