About the position

As a Paralegal Analyst in the law department at Principal Financial Group, you will be an integral part of the Real Estate Legal Team. This role is designed for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment, providing essential legal support and ensuring the execution of complex projects with a high degree of independence. You will manage various legal processes, draft documents, and maintain procedural manuals, contributing to the overall efficiency and accuracy of the department's operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex projects with a high degree of independence and initiative.
• Approve guidelines and procedures, direct negotiations, advance strategies, and promote alternative solutions for clients, outside counsel, insurance departments, courts, and other departments.
• Create, organize, and maintain various systems and procedures, contributing to and maintaining procedural and substantive manuals for the department's clients.
• Draft legal memoranda, documents, and forms to fully respond to various issues and develop systems policies and procedures for the department or the company.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus a minimum of 6+ years related legal experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in one or more areas of the law practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of commercial real estate work; state and federal statutes.
• Expertise in legal research, knowledge, and skills.
• Strong project management, analytical, and negotiation skills.
