About the position

The Paralegal/Case Manager position at an award-winning law firm focuses on managing personal injury cases, providing exceptional client service, and collaborating with attorneys and insurance adjusters. The role requires a proactive approach to handling caseloads, ensuring timely communication, and maintaining accurate records while working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assume primary responsibility on all files assigned as the primary contact for clients.
  • Facilitate and guide clients through the claim/case process.
  • Manage, obtain, and review medical records and bills.
  • Ensure the file is properly updated with all medical treatment, liens, insurance policies, and other relevant materials.
  • Work closely with the attorney to ensure efficient and timely processing of cases.
  • Perform assignments from the attorney, including letter writing and obtaining pertinent information.
  • Submit monthly status reports to the attorney for all pending cases.
  • Check and respond to messages several times daily.
  • Inform the attorney of any circumstances needing attention.
  • Understand insurance types and limits related to clients.
  • Research special issues of recovery or insurance questions.
  • Move client files toward a conclusion in a timely manner.
  • Assign tasks to legal assistants to facilitate efficient file handling.
  • Write memos and medical summaries.
  • Work with demand writers to create demand letters and produce timely demands.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in personal injury case management or claims adjusting.
  • Excellent client service skills and ability to interact positively with clients.
  • High energy and a positive attitude, thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work under attorney and paralegal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in copy-editing and proofreading legal documents.
  • Team player, coachable, and open to feedback.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
