About the position

CBL Properties is seeking an experienced real estate paralegal to support the management of its portfolio in Chattanooga, TN. The role involves working closely with in-house finance counsel on significant transactions, particularly in commercial loan due diligence, and is essential for creating positive shopping experiences through effective legal support.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with lenders to seek consents on leasing, estoppel, SNDA, and other matters requiring lender approval.
• Conduct substantial title and survey reviews.
• Assist with the preparation of real estate sales contracts and loan documents.
• Review and prepare escrow instruction letters.
• Supervise the closing process, including the preparation of closing binders.
• Perform additional tasks as needed to ensure successful outcomes.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years' experience in a commercial real estate leasing setting with a focus on real estate financing transactions.
• Paralegal certificate or bachelor's degree in Finance, Legal Studies, or a related discipline required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Word and Excel.
• Ability to file and retrieve documents to support/prepare correspondence and closing binders.
• Ability to research, review, and coordinate multiple projects while anticipating deadlines.
