Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas (LANWT) is seeking a dedicated and proactive paralegal to join its Home Preservation Project. This full-time position is hybrid/remote, based in Farmers Branch, Texas. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to public interest law and will work under the direct supervision of a licensed attorney. The paralegal will be responsible for assisting clients who fall under LANWT's set priorities, providing paraprofessional legal services in civil and family cases, and ensuring compliance with the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct and the American Bar Association's Standards for Providers of Civil Legal Services to the Poor. The paralegal's duties will include conducting client intake, developing cases, drafting legal documents, and maintaining organized records. The role also involves outreach and community legal education, assisting attorneys in representing clients, and making referrals to other resources. The paralegal will be expected to develop specialized skills and knowledge in assigned areas, keep abreast of legal changes, and represent clients at hearings when necessary.
