About the position

The Paralegal position at Enterprise Bank & Trust supports the in-house legal department by managing legal processes, case management, attorney fee tracking, and conducting legal research. This role is essential for ensuring compliance with legal requirements and assisting in the preparation of legal documentation under the supervision of the Senior Paralegal and internal legal counsel. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for both remote and in-office work, and is integral to the bank's commitment to community support and professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with managing processes and procedures related to legal processes served upon the Bank, including garnishments, levies, and subpoenas.
  • Research bank systems to identify customers and accounts subject to attachment, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare supporting legal documentation on behalf of the Bank with oversight from internal legal counsel.
  • Review subpoenas and third-party requests for information, assisting in the identification and collection of responsive materials.
  • Negotiate and coordinate the production of materials responsive to subpoena requests with requesting parties, escalating to Bank counsel when necessary.
  • Coordinate the collection of materials from Bank repositories for ongoing litigation and regulatory matters under the guidance of internal and external counsel.
  • Perform legal research for matters assigned by the Bank's internal counsel.
  • Assist the legal department with special matters as assigned.

Requirements

  • Three to five years' paralegal experience, preferably in the financial services or banking industry.
  • Experience managing and responding to legal processes is preferred.
  • Familiarity with California or Missouri law is preferred.
  • Post-secondary degree or certificate in legal studies or a comparable program.
  • High-level attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and confidentially.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Familiarity with E-Discovery and electronic repositories for document requests.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Google Applications.
  • Experience with core banking systems and CRM applications.
