The position is classified into three levels: Paralegal I, II, and III, each with increasing responsibilities and expectations. Paralegal I is an entry-level role where incumbents receive training and supervision, while Paralegal II requires more independence and may involve specialized assignments. Paralegal III encompasses advanced tasks, including outreach training and complex legal document preparation. The Paralegal will be responsible for conducting legal research, preparing legal documents, maintaining case files, and assisting in case preparation. The role may also involve filing documents with courts, responding to inquiries, and summarizing police reports and other relevant information. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. This position is part of the Classified Service of the County and may require overtime, standby, and weekend assignments as per the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
