About the position

The Matian Firm is seeking a dedicated Paralegal specializing in Immigration (EOIR) to join our expanding legal team in Las Vegas. This position is integral to our Immigration practice, where you will report directly to the Legal Department Supervisor. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of immigration-related laws and demonstrate the ability to make informed decisions in a legal context. A client-service attitude and exceptional case management skills are essential for success in this role. As a Paralegal, you will be involved in various aspects of our immigration services, including managing client relationships, conducting case reviews, and preparing and filing non-immigrant petitions. Your responsibilities will include analyzing case documents, preparing immigration applications for submission to the appropriate government agencies, and maintaining communication with clients and foreign nationals regarding procedural and case processing issues. You will also oversee the status of cases using our case management and billing systems, ensuring that all client information and case tracking details are accurately updated. In addition to these tasks, you will be responsible for maintaining hard copy files and documents to support all immigration activities on behalf of clients. Keeping clients informed about the progress of their cases is a critical part of your role, as is assisting attorneys and other team members in managing their caseloads. Responsibilities

  • Analyze case documents and prepare immigration applications for filing with the appropriate government agency.
  • Communicate with clients and foreign nationals regarding procedural and case processing issues, assisting with the review of cases.
  • Oversee status of cases through utilization of case management and billing systems.
  • Run reports and follow internal intake procedures after a client retains our firm.
  • Make regular updates to our case management system including client information, case tracking information, and client communications.
  • Maintain hard copy files and documents to support all immigration activity on behalf of clients.
  • Ensure that clients are kept informed on the progress of their cases.
  • Assist attorneys and other team members to manage caseloads.
  • Complete assignments and communicate case progress/status/issues to supervisors.

Requirements

  • At least 1-2 years of Immigration Law experience.
  • Previous experience as a paralegal or in another legal field.
  • Spanish fluency is required for this role.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Experience with Case Management Software.
