About the position

The In-House Corporate Contracts Paralegal at Electric Power Engineers (EPE) plays a crucial role in supporting the legal team by managing corporate contracts and ensuring compliance with regulations. This position involves preparing and reviewing legal documents, maintaining corporate records, and assisting in various legal functions to streamline processes and enhance efficiency within the legal department.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Renew and maintain company licensing, including state registrations and professional engineering licensures.
  • Respond to requests for information, including 'know your customer' requests and safety inquiries.
  • Maintain corporate records and documentation, including minute books and board resolutions.
  • Assist in the due diligence process for mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions.
  • Coordinate and manage the execution of documents, ensuring timely completion and compliance with legal standards.
  • Utilize Salesforce Conga to manage, track, and streamline the contract lifecycle process.
  • Apply AI tools and technologies to enhance legal research, document review, and contract analysis.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to gather necessary information and facilitate legal processes.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting corporate law, insurance, safety, and compliance.
  • Provide administrative support to the legal team as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a legal or corporate environment.
  • 2+ years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in a corporate legal setting.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, insurance, safety, and compliance issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the 'big picture' and pay attention to detail.
  • Experience with Salesforce Conga or other CLM software.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and applications in legal work is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and proactively manage tasks.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
