About the position

The Global Employment Document Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the business by helping to ensure our documents are relevant, current, and accessible to our associates. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity and compliance of employment documents across various regions and countries, aligning with the company's Total Rewards philosophy and talent strategy. The specialist will be responsible for the creation, maintenance, and governance of a comprehensive roadmap for global, regional, and country-specific employment documents. This includes leading the drafting and governance processes, ensuring that all documents are consistent with local laws and regulations, and providing guidance to the People team, associates, and management on employment document matters. In addition to document governance, the specialist will participate in large-scale employment document projects and initiatives, particularly those related to mergers and acquisitions integration and global expansion activities. This role requires collaboration with local People team representatives and legal counsel to assess the impact of changes to employment documents and to ensure compliance with local labor and employment laws. The specialist will also conduct research to understand HR compliance requirements and employment best practices, developing and implementing practices that support the business effectively. The ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, coupled with strong communication skills, is crucial for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the creation, maintenance, and governance of the global, regional, and country-specific employment documents roadmap.
  • Lead the drafting and governance of global, regional, and country-specific employment documents.
  • Collaborate with Legal and local People team representatives to provide subject-matter guidance on employment document matters.
  • Participate in large-scale employment document projects related to mergers and acquisitions integration and global expansion activities.
  • Consult with regional and country-specific People team representatives on the impact of changes to employment documents.
  • Assist in ensuring regional employment documents remain consistent with local law.
  • Consult with regional and country-specific Legal and People team representatives to recommend compliance with changes to local labor & employment law.
  • Conduct research to understand HR compliance requirements and employment best practices.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years in a legal setting with a comfort with legal language.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable establishing relationships at all levels of the organization with excellent customer-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Ability to critically analyze and prioritize requests.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in dealing with council and labor laws.
  • Knowledge in marrying local laws and the company's position to create clear and concise contracts.
  • Comfortable hopping around from subject to subject and carrying on thoughtful conversations from local outside council to HRBPs.
  • Cognizant of different cultures with excellent communication skills and writing skills.
  • Technology: Open Source, Word Processing, Cloud (i.e Google drive).
