Stange Law Firm, PC is seeking a dedicated and motivated Full-Time Paralegal/Legal Assistant/Legal Secretary to join our team in Des Moines, IA. Your primary duties will include greeting clients, preparing and drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and performing administrative tasks. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, managing calendars, and ensuring that all communications are handled efficiently. Responsibilities

  • Greet all clients and take accurate messages when individuals are not available.
  • Receive deliveries by courier or messenger, and send and receive faxes.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents for filing with appropriate entities and necessary correspondence.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all documents prepared.
  • Perform administrative duties including basic research, filing, mailings, organizing files and pleading panels, and calendaring telephone communication.
  • Conduct legal research for particular issues as assigned by attorneys using periodicals, law library, public records, and offices.
  • Make copies and enter all billable hours completed on a given day into the designated timekeeping or billing software the same day.
  • Perform any other reasonable task requested by the Firm Management Team.

Requirements

  • Law firm experience preferred.
  • Domestic experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with PC programs.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
