About the position

Plaza law firm seeks a detail-oriented Paralegal/Legal Assistant with experience in workers' compensation, civil litigation, and/or insurance defense. The candidate should be organized and capable of managing a large volume of cases from start to finish, demonstrating good technical skills and the ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Take charge of the procession of workers' compensation cases and other litigation matters as assigned.
• Request, compile, prepare, organize, and analyze documents, records, and/or exhibits as needed for workers' compensation matters, depositions, trial proceedings, settlement, and other matters.
• Request and analyze medical records.
• Perform various tasks in connection with civil lawsuits, personal injury, or commercial litigation, as assigned.
• Manage, update, and maintain the practice management system to include the coordination and monitoring of case timelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or paralegal certification preferred, but not required if experience is sufficient to meet the demands of the position.
• Experience in civil litigation, insurance defense, or workers' compensation.
• Must demonstrate an ability to handle confidential client information in a professional and trustworthy manner.
• Must demonstrate the ability to remain flexible and manage changing priorities, including availability for overtime, when needed.
• Must demonstrate professionalism, good judgment, and the ability to work well in high-pressure situations, including the ability to work well with others and as part of a team.
• You must have strong computing skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience using PracticeMaster and TABS3 is a plus.
