About the position

We are a Family Law Firm located in Chicago, IL, seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Full-Time Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our legal team by managing case work, drafting pleadings, and preparing for court appearances. This position requires a proactive individual who can prioritize tasks effectively and work independently in a fast-paced environment. The candidate will be responsible for organizing cases, conducting discovery, and e-filing in multiple jurisdictions. Client interaction is a significant aspect of this role, and the candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills to liaise effectively between clients and attorneys. Daily responsibilities will include assisting with deposition preparation, trial preparation, and independently processing all written discovery. The candidate should have a solid understanding of local and state rules of court and filing procedures, as well as familiarity with e-filing systems. Proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office programs is essential, and experience with case-management software, particularly MyCase, is preferred. Responsibilities

  • Assist with deposition preparation

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of family law experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills
  • Knowledge of local and state rules of court and filing procedures
  • Familiarity with e-filing
  • Proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience with case-management software
  • Experience with MyCase preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently
