About the position

The law firm of Cohen, Placitella, and Roth, P.C. is actively seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented paralegal to join our team in the Red Bank, NJ office. This position is integral to supporting our attorneys throughout all stages of the litigation process. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks that are essential to the smooth operation of our legal practice. The role requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism. As a paralegal, you will be involved in filing pleadings in both New Jersey and Federal Courts, ensuring that all documents are submitted in a timely manner and in compliance with court rules. You will also be tasked with serving and responding to discovery requests, which is a critical part of the litigation process. Scheduling and coordinating depositions will be another key responsibility, requiring excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. In addition to these duties, you will assist in trial preparation, which may include gathering evidence, preparing exhibits, and coordinating with witnesses. Effective communication with clients and prospective clients is essential, as you will be the point of contact for many inquiries. Performing legal research and various secretarial tasks will also be part of your daily activities, along with managing calendars and maintaining client files. Additional responsibilities may arise as needed, making adaptability and a willingness to take on new challenges important traits for this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Paralegal Certificate strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft programs and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with Westlaw and Needles Case Management software are desirable
  • Previous paralegal work with Mass tort or personal injury are desired
  • Interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
