Established Intellectual Property law firm in Tucson, AZ is seeking a paralegal/legal assistant. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting our patent group, assisting in the preparation, filing, and prosecution of patent applications. This position does not require prior patent experience, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to enter the field of intellectual property law. The role involves a variety of tasks including answering phones, preparing letters, organizing files, transcription, proofreading legal documents, and communicating with clients and foreign attorneys. Additionally, the paralegal/legal assistant will be responsible for drafting and filing legal documents and providing assistance to attorneys, patent agents, and other paralegals/patent assistants. There may also be opportunities for overflow assistance with litigation, trademark, and copyright matters. Successful candidates must possess a strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within our existing team. The ability to learn detailed processes quickly is essential. Proficiency with MS Outlook and Word is required, along with strong grammar and communication skills. Professionalism is a must, as the role involves direct communication with clients and other legal professionals. While experience in a professional office and/or post-secondary education is beneficial, it is not mandatory. This is a full-time position with a standard schedule of 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, and the work location is in person.
