About the position

Chapman Law, P.C., Fresno County's premier lifestyle law firm, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our team. This role is crucial in providing top-notch support to our attorneys and ensuring the smooth management of legal matters. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering high-quality work. The position requires a proactive approach to managing multiple attorney calendars and active case files efficiently, as well as preparing and proofreading legal documents and correspondence. Familiarity with discovery processes and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a small team are essential. The firm values strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as proficiency in various software applications including Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, Essential Forms, and Outlook. Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in civil litigation before State, Federal, Appellate Courts, and preferably administrative agencies. A paralegal certificate is preferred but not required, provided the candidate meets the criteria outlined in Business & Professions Code sec. 6450.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • A paralegal certificate or meet the criteria outlined in Business & Professions Code sec. 6450.
  • 3-5 years of experience in civil litigation before State, Federal, Appellate Courts, and preferably administrative agencies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple attorney calendars and active case files efficiently.
