About the position

Our busy personal injury firm is looking to add an experienced, full-time paralegal or legal assistant to our team. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of all facets of working up a personal injury case. This includes managing the process from the initial letters of representation to the review of medical records, and liaising with insurance companies and lien holders. The role will also involve drafting demand letters and other legal documents as necessary. Experience in drafting pleadings would be a significant advantage, as it will enhance the candidate's ability to contribute effectively to our legal processes. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with attorneys and clients, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and submitted in a timely manner. Attention to detail is crucial, as is the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously. Our firm utilizes various software tools, including WordPerfect Office, Microsoft Office, and Adobe, so familiarity with these programs is essential. The position requires a strong commitment to providing excellent support to our legal team and ensuring that our clients receive the best possible service throughout their case. In addition to the technical skills required, we are looking for someone who can communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, and who can work well under pressure. The role is full-time, with a standard 8-hour shift from Monday to Friday, and is based in our Gresham, OR office. Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of personal injury cases from initial representation to resolution.
  • Review medical records and documentation related to cases.
  • Communicate with insurance companies and lien holders.
  • Draft demand letters and other legal documents as required.
  • Assist attorneys in preparing pleadings and other court documents.
  • Maintain organized case files and documentation.
  • Ensure timely submission of all necessary paperwork and documentation.

Requirements

  • Experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, particularly in personal injury cases.
  • Strong writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence.
  • Familiarity with legal software, including WordPerfect Office, Microsoft Office, and Adobe.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
