About the position

Kimura London & White LLP is seeking a full-time Paralegal or experienced Legal Assistant to support personal injury attorneys in their growing boutique law firm located in Irvine, CA. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience and will play a crucial role in managing legal filings, client communications, and assisting with various legal processes.

Responsibilities

• Filings in State (85%) and Federal Court (15%)
• Calendaring court deadlines, discovery deadlines, reminders, etc.
• Contacting insurance carriers to open insurance claims
• Opening Medi-cal and Medicare claims on behalf of clients
• Assisting clients with property damage claims
• Communicating and assisting clients regarding medical treatment
• Working knowledge of personal injury pre-litigation and litigation matters
• Drafting Pleadings and Discovery (i.e. draft shells, proof read, cite check, perfect formatting, etc.)
• Proficient in Microsoft Word (especially Tables of Authorities and Tables of Contents for Motions)
• Knowledge of law/motion and discovery deadlines pursuant to the CCP and FRCP for Central District CA
• Conducting Intakes with Potential Clients
• Communicating with clients, setting up calls, and meetings
• Familiar with MyCase is a plus

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant
• Proficient in Microsoft Word
• Experience in calendaring court and discovery deadlines
• Knowledge of personal injury pre-litigation and litigation matters
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients
