About the position

The busy applicant firm is seeking a full-time legal assistant or paralegal to join our dynamic team. This position is crucial for overseeing workers' compensation cases and requires a candidate with experience in EAMS and WCAB procedures. The legal assistant/paralegal will serve as the primary contact point between the law office and various stakeholders, including defense attorneys, claims adjusters, and medical professionals. This role involves monitoring all open cases to ensure that clients receive the necessary medical treatment and medications in a timely manner. In addition to case monitoring, the legal assistant/paralegal will be responsible for filing workers' compensation applications and declarations of readiness to proceed. Drafting letters and pleadings is also a key part of the job, along with recommending claim strategies to the attorneys based on the specifics of each case. The assistant/paralegal will participate in meetings and provide updates regarding the current status of cases, ensuring that all parties are informed and aligned. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • At least 3-4 years of recent experience in workers' compensation cases.
  • Good communication skills are essential for this role.
  • Experience with EAMS and WCAB procedures is required.
