About the position

Connect Attorneys PLLC is seeking a Paralegal/Office Manager to play a pivotal role in establishing and managing operations for a new law firm in Miami. This position combines paralegal duties with office management responsibilities, focusing on setting up processes and workflows while ensuring smooth legal operations across multiple practice areas, including Corporate, Personal Injury, Criminal Defense, and Immigration Law.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda and summaries.
  • Manage and organize case files, ensuring timely and proper filing of documents with courts.
  • Assist with client communication and coordinate meetings, providing exceptional client service.
  • Support case preparation by gathering documents, conducting interviews, and maintaining evidence.
  • Participate in virtual and in-person meetings, collaborating closely with the legal team.
  • Play a key role in structuring the firm's processes, workflows, and KPIs for effective client matter management and service delivery.
  • Develop and implement the firm's operational infrastructure, including technology, legal software, and office systems.
  • Oversee day-to-day administrative functions such as calendar management, client onboarding, and staff coordination.
  • Assist with financial management tasks, including billing, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with vendors and manage firm-wide communications to ensure smooth operations.
  • Help identify potential office space and assist with the setup of physical office operations in Downtown Miami as the firm expands.

Requirements

  • Paralegal certification or degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in one or more of the listed practice areas.
  • Prior experience in law firm office management or legal operations is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools, case management software, and office productivity tools.
  • Exceptional organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a hybrid (remote/office) environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Spanish fluency is highly preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is highly preferred.
