This role is integral to the legal team, focusing on providing support in various legal matters, particularly in the areas of patent law and contract management. The company is dedicated to developing therapies that are both safe and effective, and the paralegal will play a crucial role in ensuring that legal processes are handled efficiently and accurately. As a Paralegal, you will be responsible for processing, generating, drafting, and finalizing contracts, as well as filing US and foreign patent applications. You will also generate patent reports, review and analyze standard contracts, and negotiate terms as necessary. Collaboration with attorneys on special projects will be a key aspect of this role, requiring strong communication and organizational skills. The position demands a thorough understanding of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, as well as a solid foundation in intellectual property law. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of paralegal experience, with at least 5 years in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector. A Bachelor’s degree and a valid Paralegal Certificate are required, along with admission to the USPTO patent bar. The role is full-time, with a standard schedule of Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, and may require occasional overtime. The company values a collaborative work environment and expects a minimum of three on-site days per week.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree
  • Paralegal Certificate
  • Minimum of 10 years' paralegal experience
  • Prior experience in transactional and intellectual property
  • Pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry experience required
  • Must have admission to the USPTO patent bar
  • Thorough knowledge of software applications i.e. MS Office, and DocuSign
  • Working knowledge of contract management systems

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry experience (5 years preferred)
