About the position

The Boutique law firm located in Playa Del Rey is seeking a dedicated and experienced Paralegal/Secretary to join their team. This position is essential for supporting the legal staff in various capacities, particularly in civil litigation. The ideal candidate will possess 3-5 years of relevant experience and will be well-versed in both federal and state filing procedures. The role requires a proactive individual who can draft a variety of legal documents, including motions, pleadings, letters, and notices, and has experience in assisting with the discovery process, both propounding and responding to requests. In this role, the Paralegal/Secretary will be responsible for trial preparation, which includes creating exhibit binders, compiling witness lists, and organizing trial notebooks. The candidate will also be tasked with drafting and editing legal documents such as motions, briefs, complaints, and correspondence. Maintaining the attorneys' calendars is a critical aspect of this position, ensuring that all internal and court deadlines are met. Additionally, the Paralegal/Secretary will schedule clients for conferences, depositions, and mediations, and will handle both physical and electronic filing for state and federal cases. Scheduling court hearings and understanding court procedures will also be part of the daily responsibilities.
