About the position

Timoney Knox LLP is seeking an experienced Trusts, Estates, and Corporate Paralegal to manage the administration of estates and trusts, as well as corporate matters. This role requires strong interpersonal skills for regular interaction with clients and colleagues, and involves a variety of responsibilities including probate functions, tax return preparation, and corporate record maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Identify estate assets and perform probate functions.
• Independently administer estates and maintain financial records for tax returns and fiduciary accountings.
• Assist with the preparation, review, and filing of income tax, inheritance, and estate tax returns.
• Prepare fiduciary accountings for estates and trusts, including Receipt and Release Agreements and Schedules of Distribution.
• Maintain and file corporate records, including resolutions and annual reports.
• Form new LLCs, corporations, and partnerships, including filing incorporation documents and obtaining tax identification numbers.
• Support business transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, asset and stock purchases, and dissolutions.
• Prepare personal income tax returns and communicate with income tax clients and tax preparers.
• Prepare documents and support attorneys during real estate closings.

Requirements

• Prior experience with the administration of Estates.
• Aptitude for complex financial matters.
• Excellent communication skills and commitment to client service.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with Lackner software and CCH ProSystem fx Tax software.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with corporate and real estate matters.
• Preparation of income tax returns for individuals, estates, and trusts.
