Lippes Mathias LLP, a full-service law firm founded in 1965, is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our Trusts & Estates practice group in Jacksonville, FL. As a Paralegal in the Trusts & Estates practice group, you will be responsible for drafting various estate planning documents, including wills, revocable trusts, powers of attorney, declarations of health care surrogate, and living wills. You will also draft and file probate and trust administration documents, manage estate and probate caseloads and calendars under attorney supervision, and obtain asset information through communication with clients, accountants, and financial institutions. Proficiency in utilizing probate software to prepare inventories, accountings, and distribution schedules is also required. This position offers a dynamic work environment where you will collaborate with attorneys, fiduciaries, and professional advisors to ensure the highest quality of service to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting estate planning documents such as wills, revocable trusts, powers of attorney, declaration of health care surrogate, and living wills.
  • Drafting and filing probate and trust administration documents.
  • Managing estate and probate caseload and calendars under attorney supervision.
  • Obtaining asset information through contact with clients, accountants, and financial institutions.
  • Utilizing probate software to prepare inventories, accountings, and distribution schedules.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in a law firm environment.
  • Experience with probate document preparation and electronic filing.
  • Knowledge of probate court rules.
  • Proficiency in Lawgic, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of ProLaw or similar document management systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work with clients, attorneys, fiduciaries, and professional advisors.
  • Ability to effectively work within a team, including delegation of work to a legal assistant as appropriate.
  • Ability to complete projects with little oversight and direction.
  • Ability to use discretion and handle confidential information.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce high quality work products.
  • Accurate typing speed of 60+ wpm required.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Reliable attendance.
