About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our dynamic law office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting our attorneys with a variety of tasks, including conducting legal research, preparing documents, and assisting with trial preparation. The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of legal principles and procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. In this role, you will conduct legal research and analysis using Westlaw, Lexis-Nexis, and other legal databases to support attorneys in the preparation of cases. You will prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and other court filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Additionally, you will assist with trial preparation, which includes transcribing interviews, preparing exhibits, and organizing evidence. You will also conduct interviews with clients and witnesses, taking detailed notes and summarizing information. Supporting attorneys with family law matters will be a key responsibility, which includes drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all legal documents and case files is essential. Collaboration with attorneys to review documents, identify issues, and recommend solutions will be part of your daily tasks. Furthermore, you will provide exceptional customer service to clients, responding to inquiries and addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in a law office or legal environment.
  • Proficiency in using MyCase is a plus.
  • Strong interview skills and the ability to transcribe conversations accurately.
  • Experience in preparing documents and supporting attorneys in trial preparation.
  • Knowledge of family law is a plus.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
