About the position

We are seeking a tech-savvy and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our fast-paced legal team at a scale-up tech company. The role involves supporting our Corporate Counsel in various legal areas, including contracts, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, litigation support, and data privacy. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the maintenance of corporate records, including board resolutions, minutes, and filings related to company structure and subsidiaries.
  • Assist in the drafting, reviewing, and managing of a wide variety of commercial agreements, including vendor contracts, software licensing, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Support the legal team in ensuring compliance with industry regulations, including maintaining separate systems for export controlled/classified information.
  • Organize and maintain electronic legal files, ensuring that all documents are stored and managed efficiently using case management software or cloud-based solutions.
  • Assist in managing the company's intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights, and coordinate with external counsel on filings and renewals.
  • Conduct research on emerging laws and regulations in the technology space, such as AI, data security, cybersecurity, and other relevant tech policies.
  • Coordinate with external counsel on litigation matters, including responding to subpoenas, document requests, and discovery obligations.
  • Support the legal and IT teams in responding to data breaches or cybersecurity incidents, including assisting with investigations and drafting reports or notifications.
  • Provide administrative support to the legal team, including calendar management, meeting coordination, and communication with external counsel or stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, or a Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program.
  • 5+ years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in the technology, software, or corporate environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Familiarity with tech-related and government/defense legal areas, such as intellectual property, data privacy, cybersecurity, and compliance.
  • Experience in a defense, tech or software company with exposure to corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with internal stakeholders, external counsel, and regulatory bodies.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment while maintaining high accuracy.
  • Ability to anticipate needs, identify potential issues, and propose solutions proactively.
  • High degree of professionalism, integrity, and ability to handle confidential information.

Nice-to-haves
