As a paralegal in a small personal injury law firm, you will play an important role in managing the litigation process from start to finish. Your responsibilities will include helping to draft complaints, discovery documents, motions, and pleading orders, as well as maintaining the litigation calendar and managing all other important litigation-related matters. You will be the primary coordinator for depositions, hearings, and trials, and will be responsible for corresponding with opposing counsel. Additionally, you will handle calendaring events, appointments, sorting and distributing mail, and organizing various administrative tasks. The ideal candidate must possess excellent writing abilities and be capable of conducting basic research and collecting important information to incorporate into pleadings, motions, and other legal documents. A strong understanding of legal filings, drafting legal documents, court procedures, and generally accepted practices is essential. Adaptability is a key trait for this position, as the case manager must be willing to take on any task necessary to move cases forward and maintain the organizational integrity of the office. You will be accountable for keeping cases moving forward in a timely manner, maintaining organization by inputting and updating important information into the system, and following standard operating procedures (SOPs). Key performance indicators will include the number of cases settled, the organization of client files, and the completion rate of tasks.
