The New Mexico office of JSH is currently expanding and is in search of a paralegal with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a litigation practice. The ideal candidate will possess a paralegal certificate and have substantial experience in a law firm setting, demonstrating familiarity with both Federal and State Rules. While knowledge of expert witnesses is desirable, it is not a strict requirement. Candidates should be highly motivated, possess a stable work history, and exhibit exceptional communication skills, along with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively. Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and meetings.
  • Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Organize and maintain case files and documentation.
  • Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts as needed.
  • Manage case calendars and deadlines to ensure timely filings and responses.
  • Review and summarize legal documents and evidence.
  • Assist in trial preparation and support during trials.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a litigation practice.
  • Paralegal certificate is required.
  • Substantial experience in a law firm setting.
  • Familiarity with Federal and State Rules is essential.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Stable work history and a highly motivated attitude.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of expert witnesses is desirable but not required.
