Our client is seeking a paralegal for their Nashville office. This position is hybrid but does require you to be fulltime in the office when you first start to learn firm culture, process, and more importantly to meet and work with the team. The person hired will have paralegal experience and be able to support several attorneys at one time. The clients are insurance defense firms. The ideal candidate is someone that takes pride in their work and will not let work go out the door that is not representing the Firm properly. This position does require you to bill time. Primary duties include drafting legal memoranda including pleadings, discovery demands and responses, subpoenas, correspondence, and discovery motions. You will be responsible for organizing, charting, and processing incoming records and invoices, as well as following up for outstanding records via telephone, e-mail, and regular mail. Additionally, you will prepare answers and correspondence, manage a large caseload while working with multiple attorneys, and review documents for relevance and privilege in preparation for disclosure. Conducting case law research using Lexis and public access websites to assist with strategies for defense is also a key responsibility. Furthermore, you will assist with preparing attorneys for mediation and trial, and retrieve documents from and save to the document management system.
