About the position

We are offering a contract employment opportunity in Alexandria, Virginia for a Paralegal. This role primarily involves handling legal documents, managing cases, and assisting with legal research in a variety of sectors. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of legal procedures and documentation, along with proficient use of legal software. The Paralegal will be responsible for ensuring that all legal documents are prepared accurately and in a timely manner, while also managing case files and maintaining communication with clients and attorneys. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently and as part of a team, ensuring that all legal processes are followed correctly and efficiently. Responsibilities

  • Handle case management duties, ensuring all cases are progressing as planned
  • Utilize Aderant and Adobe Acrobat for document management and preparation
  • Employ Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS) for property records search
  • Draft and review legal documents, including briefings, under attorney supervision
  • Manage and maintain the legal calendar, ensuring all deadlines are met in a timely manner
  • Perform legal research to support ongoing cases and legal initiatives
  • Administer claims, ensuring all necessary actions are taken promptly
  • Conduct billing functions, monitoring expenses and ensuring accurate invoicing
  • Foster clear and effective communication with clients, attorneys, and court personnel
  • Leverage CompuLaw for effective case and matter management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the EEOC area of law
  • Proficient in Aderant and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS)
  • Familiarity with Case Management Software
  • Proficient in CompuLaw
  • Demonstrated ability in performing Billing Functions
  • Experience in Briefing and Calendar Management
  • Familiarity with Claim Administration procedures
  • Strong Communication skills.
